Whether you are a high school student beginning to explore career paths, a college student completing internship hours or a graduate student pursuing a clinical rotation, OASIS offers meaningful opportunities to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, family-centered setting. 

Shadowing Experiences: Exploring the World of Pediatric Therapy 

For high school or undergraduate students who are curious about careers in healthcare, our shadowing program offers a behind-the-scenes look into the rewarding field of pediatric therapy home care and clinic care. Students have the opportunity to observe therapy sessions, learn about the different disciplines within our clinic, including clinic-based and home health pediatric occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology, and see how our clinicians collaborate to support each child’s unique developmental journey. 

Shadowing is often a student’s first glimpse into what therapy looks like outside the classroom. They get to witness how play, creativity and evidence-based practice come together to make a real difference in children’s lives. Students also have time to ask questions, reflect on what they have learned and gain insight into whether a career in pediatric therapy might be the right fit. 

Many of our shadowing students go on to pursue degrees in therapy or related fields, and our clinicians love being part of that journey by offering guidance, mentorship and letters of recommendation to support students’ next steps. 

Internships: Building Skills Through Hands-On Learning 

For students looking for a deeper and more structured experience, internships at OASIS Pediatric Therapy provide an opportunity to engage more fully with the day-to-day operations of a pediatric therapy clinic. Interns often assist with clinic organization, material preparation and may help support special events hosted within our clinic. 

This experience gives students an understanding of what it takes to run a thriving therapy practice, from the teamwork behind the scenes to the creativity that drives effective treatment planning. Interns develop professional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills that are invaluable in any career path. 

Internships also allow students to more thoroughly explore the various specialty areas and identify how their interest areas may align with a particular discipline. Many discover specific interests that shape the direction of their future studies or career goals. 

Clinical and Fieldwork Rotations: Shaping Confident Future Clinicians 

We take great pride in partnering with universities to host externships and clinical placements for pediatric occupational therapy in Colorado, along with physical therapy and speech-language pathology, including clinical fellowships for SLP students. We also provide observation opportunities for students in the home health setting. 

Students completing their clinical placements with us become an integral part of the team. Under the mentorship of experienced clinicians, they gain real-world experience treating clients, collaborating with caregivers, documenting progress and participating in interdisciplinary teamwork. 

Our educators are committed to creating a safe and encouraging learning environment where students are supported to ask questions, try new strategies, reflect on their growth and build confidence in their clinical reasoning. We provide structured feedback, access to professional development resources, and opportunities for discussion on topics such as family-centered care, trauma-informed practice and child-led approaches. 

Many of our former fieldwork students stay connected long after their placements end, reaching out for mentorship, returning as employees or even becoming fieldwork educators themselves.
