We believe families have an improved quality of life when they can care for their loved ones directly. Our Family CNA Program helps make that possible by providing parents and caregivers with the training, support and income they need to provide skilled, compassionate care for their child at home.

Through this program, you can become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and join the OASIS team, all while caring for your own child in a safe, familiar environment. It’s more than a job. It’s a pathway to stability, confidence and deeper connection.

How the Family CNA Program works

The OASIS Family CNA Program empowers parents and approved family members to receive free CNA training and certification and then be paid for providing care to their child who qualifies for CNA-level services under Colorado Medicaid.

Caring for a child with medical needs can make a traditional job difficult and this program helps bridge that gap by turning what’s already an act of love and a daily routine into a sustainable way to support your family while providing the highest level of care for a loved one. You’ll gain hands-on skills, medical training and confidence, all while ensuring your loved one receives consistent, personalized care from someone who knows them best. Families who participate often share that it’s life-changing, creating stability and peace of mind for everyone involved.

We’ll start with a phone screening to see if you’re a good fit for the program, confirming your eligibility and then we will help you register for CNA school. We also conduct an interview process with potential CNAs.

Yes! As long as your child qualifies for CNA services. Once you’re accepted into our Family CNA Program and you complete CNA school, you’ll be employed by OASIS as a Family CNA. You will be paid for the care you provide to your child.

Training typically takes about four months and includes both coursework and hands-on practice. OASIS coordinates your training and supports you through the process. After finishing the coursework, trainees have to pass a certification exam to become a licensed CNA.

You’ll learn essential caregiving and medical skills such as monitoring health, assisting with mobility and performing basic nursing tasks that help your child live more comfortably and safely at home.

Children who qualify for CNA-level care under Colorado Medicaid are eligible. If you are unsure, we can help you navigate the requirements and assessment needed to determine eligibility.
